Rihanna dines at Giorgio Baldi so often that it’s practically her profession. So it makes sense that she arrived at the restaurant last night wearing head-to-toe denim, arguably the most functional fabric available. But this wasn’t just any Canadian tuxedo. Of course, she decked it out with luxurious details.

Rihanna’s light-wash denim jacket was actually by Dior. She wore it with Agolde wide-leg jeans for a complete Canadian tuxedo look. Rihanna paired her mismatched Canadian tuxedo with a patchwork Dior handbag, emblazoned with the brand’s name.

While many consider denim a staple for more formal outfits, Rihanna elevated her look with some key styling choices. She layered a Bottega Veneta shearling scarf over her denim shirt and donned her usual selection of silver and gold jewelry. Tom Ford snakeskin sandals completed the entrepreneur’s outfit.

Statement denim has been a key focus for the singer during her dinner parties. Earlier this month, she made another appearance at Giorgio Baldi in the fabric. On this occasion, she opted for Celine by Hedi Slimane flared jeans, made famous by Kendrick Lamar during the Super Bowl halftime show. She elevated the controversial silhouette with a snakeskin coat and a Tom Ford-era Gucci bag.

But Rihanna has proven there’s an art to dressing up with denim. You can’t just throw on baggy jeans, a T-shirt, and a few statement accessories and expect to look like yesterday’s Bad Girl. When the mogul dons denim for a night out, she elevates her look with a structured blazer or a statement handbag. Even better if the latter is also denim.
