On the red carpet, Amal Clooney remained loyal to Versace. Under the watchful eye of Donatella Versace, the British lawyer wore many spectacular outfits from the Italian brand. And with the arrival of a new designer in Dario Vitale, her devotion to the house shows no signs of slowing down.
On Friday night in London, Amal attended the Clooney Foundation’s “The Albies” party wearing a stunning Atelier Versace creation by Vitale one of her first custom-made outfits since taking over from Donatella in April 2025. Attending the event with her husband, George Clooney, Amal wore a dark chocolate brown corset dress with a sweeping train. It featured off-the-shoulder straps, a fitted, gathered bodice, and a long, semi-sheer skirt.
Taking inspiration from the fall color palette, the human rights lawyer paired her dress with sheer pumps and proudly displayed her honey-brown hair. She complemented it with a glowing complexion and crystal chandelier earrings. George, meanwhile, stayed true to his signature style with a smart men’s suit and bow tie.

Vitale’s Versace house made a dramatic red carpet debut: Julia Roberts and Amanda Seyfried both wore the same jeans and blazer to the Venice Film Festival in August. Then, in late September, Vitale presented his first collection for Versace at Milan Fashion Week: a more wearable, everyday version inspired by the codes established by the house’s founder, Gianni Versace, in the late 1980s and 1990s. Addison Rae promptly wore pieces from the show 24 hours later for her own tour.
Over the course of her many years on the red carpet, Versace has always been a go-to for Amal. She’s worn both the brand’s custom pieces and nostalgic vintage creations from the 2000s. But Amal’s custom Vitale outfit, unveiled Friday, offered a first glimpse of how he plans to dress stars for the red carpet and it’s quintessentially Versace.
