Sarah Paulson deconstructs the idea of the fairytale dress. This weekend in Los Angeles, she revisited a traditionally feminine and pastoral silhouette with frayed edges and undone hems.
At the Television Academy’s annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Paulson donned a floor-length Khaite gown. From the New York-based brand’s Fall 2025 collection, the piece stood out for its sculptural puffed shoulders and a fitted and flared asymmetrical skirt. Despite its charming silhouette, the fabric was a real highlight. The dress was adorned with exposed seams and pleated, frayed details, adding a touch of glamour to its otherwise romantic silhouette. In addition to its distressed edges, Paulson’s dress featured a zigzag metal zipper down the front.
Building on the silhouette of her floor-length gown, the actress complemented her look with a minimalist touch. She opted for her signature slicked-back pixie cut and sported fresh-faced skin with blush-tinted cheeks. For accessories, Paulson opted for a structured black Métier Hardware clutch and open-toe pumps.

Paulson has always had a knack for reimagining classic silhouettes with a twist. At an awards show in October 2024, the actress wore an off-the-shoulder Marc Jacobs gown, which was similar in cut to her latest creation. As if the statement cut wasn’t enough, she paired it with kitschy pointed-toe shoes.
In her latest look, Paulson embraced the rising trend of haunted doll glamour that’s been haunting red carpets lately, striking the perfect balance between the eerie and the enchanting.
