Daniil Shuleyko embodies an extraordinary trajectory: a former science researcher turned digital strategist, now at the helm of Yango Group, a digital giant present in over 30 countries. Coming from a rigorous scientific background, he began his career as an analyst before branching out into marketing. This blend of analytical thinking and business skills has prepared him to navigate a complex and rapidly expanding technology landscape.

Since his appointment as CEO, he has transformed the initial ride-hailing app into a truly global superapp. Under his leadership, Yango now offers services ranging from mobility and food delivery to conversational AI (Yasmina), e-payments (YangoPay), streaming (Yango Play), and even enterprise software solutions (Yango Tech).

Shuleyko’s key strategy is based on hyperlocality: rather than deploying a uniform model, he requires precise adaptation to each market. He personally travels more than 95 flights in a year to invest time in the field, meet with local teams, and understand the specific needs of consumers and partners. This “Go to the Fields” approach even encourages headquarters employees to experience fieldwork in order to grasp the operational reality.
The deployment in Peru (integration of minibuses and tuk-tuks), Pakistan (specific pricing for rickshaws accompanied by localized branding), and Côte d’Ivoire (drastically reducing the average age of partner vehicles) perfectly illustrates this philosophy. In Pakistan, for example, the service respects and pays homage to local traditions, while in Côte d’Ivoire, the fleet has been modernized in line with the aspirations of an emerging middle class.

With this vision in mind, Yango has opened a new regional office in Abidjan, strengthening its foothold in Africa. This establishment aims to coordinate operations across the continent and accelerate technological innovation rooted in local realities. At the same time, the Yango Fellowship program is being rolled out pan-African to train a new generation of digital talent.
In his long-term vision, Daniil aims to grow Yango to one billion users within ten years, through measured growth, a constant spirit of curiosity, and a startup culture rooted in agility and experimentation.
In short, Shuleyko embodies a rare approach in the tech world: combining scientific intelligence, local immersion, and human leadership to build an inclusive, scalable, and deeply human digital ecosystem.
