Naomi Campbell Gives New Life to Old Jeans to Celebrate Law Roach’s Birthday

Naomi Campbell has had a busy couture week. From guest (to the Chanel show in a unique ’80s rock hairstyle), model (at Demna’s latest show for Balenciaga), and partygoer, she traded her couture outfit for another. Just hours after walking the Balenciaga runway, the supermodel traded her couture outfit for another and attended Law Roach’s 47th birthday party in a dress that looked like it was made from Campbell’s old jeans.

Hosted by Chopard and held at the brand’s hotel at 1 Place Vendôme, the event featured a guest list of industry figures. Roach was in attendance, of course, having just arrived front row at Glenn Martens’ debut presentation for Maison Margiela, where he was no doubt studying looks for Zendaya’s upcoming press tour for Dune: Part Three. Chopard president Caroline Scheufele oversaw the festivities, while Michele Lamy, designer Tamara Ralph, and other A-listers joined Campbell at the event.

While earlier in the day, Campbell had worn a rather classic creation for Balenciaga a black strapless gown embroidered with sequins the evening called for something a little more unexpected. Still, Campbell stayed true to Demna and attended the birthday party in an outfit from the designer’s Fall/Winter 2024 couture collection. The piece appeared to be composed of several pairs of black jeans, one of which was turned inside out, the waistband forming a hem that reached down to her ankles, and the trouser legs were folded down to form a strapless neckline. A second pair was sewn into the back, the legs falling beneath Campbell’s feet in a sort of slit train.

Despite her absence, Campbell posed for the cameras in her dress, patent leather pumps, sunglasses, and curly hair. The normally stoic model appeared to be having a blast during the evening, raising a glass to Roach’s health.
