Don’t expect Alexa Chung and Sarah Paulson to be leaving their coats at the door anytime soon. At the Miu Miu Tales & Tellers event this weekend, the stars proved that spring coats and chic cocktail attire go rather well together.
0n Friday, Chung attended the New York gathering ⁰0 a ny⁰00l0 bomber jacket from the Italian brand. Upon arriv0⁰al, one might have expected her to remove her coat, which featured a silver bracelet on one side, to reveal what she was wearing underneath. Instead, Chung kept her coat on to pose for photos and interact with guests throughout the evening. A formula Paulson also adhered to during the event.

The actress opted for a longer coat than Chung’s, which reached her waist. She wore a sleek khaki trench coat with a contrasting hood.
Chung and Paulson, however, enhanced their jackets with more cocktail-appropriate pieces. Chung wore a floral-print dress, Miu Miu’s brown fabric “Arcadie” bag, and the brand’s signature buckle heels to complement her varsity jacket. Paulson, meanwhile, matched the color of her coat with a high-waisted maxi skirt, a pink button-down blouse, and Miu Miu’s “Aventure” bag.

Chung and Paulson weren’t the only ones pairing coats and cocktail attire, however. Paloma Elesser took a cue from Chung, wearing a red-trimmed nylon bomber jacket over a simple sweater and Oxford shirt. The model brought a schoolgirl touch to her look with a patterned skirt, a black bowler bag, and silver metallic heels paired with black socks. Ella Emhoff, her second daughter, opted for a sleek trench coat paired with a blue skirt and jeans.
According to the Miu Miu girls, there are no rules when it comes to cocktail attire.
